Revolution Trains is teaming up with Rapido Trains of Canada to offer another run of their highly-regarded Class 390 Pendolino model – in Virgin’s new livery of white with red “Satin drape” across the nose ends.
We’re also offering the model as 390045 in the eye-catching “Virgin Pride livery with rainbow power car at one end.
Other options will include 9-car set 390010 “Cumbrian Spirit”, the first Pendolino to receive the new livery, and 390107, the first 11-car set to be re-livered, and in a very slightly revised form with a black stripe along the windows.
We are also planning to offer two 11-car sets in the revised original livery with grey doors as 390130 “City of Edinburgh” and 390152 “Virgin Knight”, and to complete the set we are also planning a 9-car set in the original livery but in post-2006 condition with stripes on the doors and coach identification letters.
None of these livery variations has previously been offered.
These new sets will be provided with plain yellow end panels, to allow modellers to replicate those original sets fitted with new nose doors, as shown in this view at London Euston.
Of course, these models will only be produced if there are adequate pre-orders.
We anticipate production to begin early in the New Year with delivery of the models in Q2 or Q3 2019.
