Description
Constructed in two batches from 1987, more than 200 single unit KFA container flat wagons were built for Tiphook by Rautaruukki of Finland. The first batch were delivered on GPS bogies, while later versions had Sambre et Meuse VNH1 types. The wagons have been used on a huge variety of containerised freight including intermodal traffic, gypsum, MoD, steel, paper and engineer’s modules. They are currently in service with Freightliner, DB Cargo, Network Rail and GBRf.
Versions with both bogie types are offered from the original PFAs to the recoded KFAs now in service with Freightliner and Network Rail.
This was our second wagon and was produced with Rapido Trains. It features a diecast chassis for weight, with a plastic moulded deck and numerous separate detail parts.
