Revolution Trains received an early Christmas present in the form of EP1 samples of the forthcoming 1970s-1990s era MTV and ZKV ‘Zander’ box wagons. These were used from the early 1970s to the 1990s on stone, sand and engineer’s trains.
In offering this model Revolution is following prototype practice; the real things were built using chassis recovered from redundant Class A and Class B tanker wagons, and our model follows the same principle. The chassis in the photograph above is a painted tanker chassis used for testing; the models will have correct chassis markings.
These models are available to order now at the low pre-production price in original stone, engineer’s brown and CE Dutch liveries.
As well as the box wagons, Revolution is offering Class A tankers in Esso silver and grey, debranded and Staveley Chemicals liveries. These wagons can be distinguished from the similar Class B tankers by their longer barrels and different loading and discharge equipment, and the versions we are offering will complement our award-winning Class B tankers released in 2018; often being operated in the same trains.
Decorated samples of both the MTV/ZKV and Class A tankers are expected early in 2021, with the order book likely to close soon after Chinese New Year.
Order deadline Alert!
Midnight on December 31st is the order deadline for some forthcoming items – please do not miss out if you want to get the low pre-production price on any of these great models.

Earlybird deadline alert!
December 31st is also the deadline for the low Earlybird prices on the next run of Revolution/Rapido Trains Class 390 Pendolino units in N. These models are being offered in new liveries but at the same low price as first time round for a limited time.
The models will still be available to pre-order in 2021 until Rapido are ready to put them into production, but the price will be higher.
